A Photographic Vision
In the same sense that the past is a foreign country, so too are nature and wilderness foreign to modern life. In fact this also suggests that, in reality, it is modern life that has become a place foreign to our natural impulses, needs, development, and temperament. Thus I find myself inhabiting not just the past but also nature (and that crucial linkage between humans and nature: agricultural history).
